Getting There
To walk to The Monument Pub from Monument Tube Station, you’ll start your journey at the station exit on King William Street. From there, follow these steps:
- Exit Monument Tube Station and head northeast on King William Street toward Monument Street.
- Turn right onto Monument Street.
- Continue straight on Monument Street until you reach the junction with Fish Street Hill.
- Cross Fish Street Hill and continue straight on Monument Street.
- After about 300 meters, you’ll see The Monument to the Great Fire of London on your left. It’s a tall column designed by Sir Christopher Wren, commemorating the Great Fire of London in 1666.
- Just past The Monument, on the corner of Monument Street and Fish Street Hill, you’ll find The Monument Pub.
Along the way, you’ll pass by bustling streets lined with historic and modern buildings, shops, cafes, and restaurants. You’ll also see architectural landmarks such as The Monument itself, which offers a great photo opportunity and a chance to learn about London’s history. Keep an eye out for interesting details on the buildings and maybe even some street performers adding to the lively atmosphere of the area.
